"Bob Weiner, former director of public affairs at the ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy) and former director of communications at the House Select Committee on Narcotics, was in Washington when the ONDCP was created under President Reagan. "I am hopeful that the ONDCP returns to a leadership role in the field," he told ADAW. "We need a commander-in-chief for the range of anti-drug actions - treatment, prevention, education, law enforcement, and foreign policy. With a treatment gap of some 20 million, there is enormous work to do."
